Hydration levels: “What?”
It might surprise you that, right after packing your passport and arriving to the airport early, in-flight hydration is at the very top of the list when it comes to preparing yourself for a smooth journey. Humidity levels during flight are significantly lower than on the ground. Add a cocktail or a glass of wine without a companion cup of water, and you are really stressing your body.
Next time you happen to be near a galley inflight, take a peek at the counter or jumpseat; You will likely see that the flight attendants each have a large water either on the counter or in the jumpsuit.
In addition to drinking enough water, keep lotion readily available for your hands, face and lips. I also use simply saline mist (nose/sinus irrigation) at the beginning, middle, and end of every flight.
I don’t really believe in jet lag, but firmly believe lack of rest and dehydration causes many people to feel tired and sluggish upon landing.
Stay hydrated during the flight, book a day room at your hotel so you immediately have access to shower and take (no more than) a 2-2.5 hour nap upon arrival, and you will be astounded at the difference it makes.
